NORTHERN MOTORS DOUBLE GIVEAWAY FOR CHARITY
Mr Cedric Levitt, of Bushey, was delighted to receive his
classic 1962 Victor FB last month from Northern Motors, his raffle
prize from the recently held Hertfordshire Motor Show and,
likewise, The Peace Hospice were very pleased to receive the funds
generated from the raffle of £200.
Northern Motors Watford, the Vauxhall dealership for Herts and
North London, exhibited at the Motor Show, held annually by the
Watford Observer Group in conjunction with the Classic Car Show,
and organized the raffle in order to raise funds for The Peace
Hospice.
Mr Levitt, the President of the Watford & District Classic
Vehicle Club, entered the raffle to win the classic car restoration
project. This particular model brings back fond memories of
his first and only new car bought for £701 in the early 60’s.
Mr Levitt, a self-confessed petrol head, has a background in both
art and mechanics and spent 35 years in the motor industry.
His hobby, naturally, is restoring classic cars and raising money
for charity; in fact he recently joined his son on a bike ride from
Lands End to John O’Groats in aid of the Paul Levitt Foundation for
cancer research.
“I’ve always had an interest in cars” says Mr Levitt, who
will be 73 in August “and I was so surprised to win this particular
car, I can’t wait to get started”. Concerning his not
insignificant charitable efforts, Mr Levitt simply said “I like to
give something back”.
The Peace Hospice is based in Watford and supports families all
over South West Hertfordshire, enhancing the quality of life for
people with cancer or other life threatening illnesses.
Maggie Grand, Corporate Fundraising Manager, who received the
cheque for £200 from Andy White, Sales Manager at Northern Motors
Watford, on behalf of the Hospice said, “we are absolutely
delighted to receive this donation from Northern Motors. It
is fantastic when businesses in the local community support us in
this way”.
